Together, We Make Country Trails Better

Our Mission: To support and enhance the educational experience at Country Trails Elementary School by fostering strong relationships among families, staff, and the community through volunteerism, fundraising, and school support.

What We Do

Thanks to the support of our families and community we are able to:

Support Students and Staff

Provide classroom resources, staff appreciation, and learning enrichment.

Fund Programs and Events

Sponsor assemblies, field trips, family events, and other memorable experiences.

Build Community

Create opportunities for families to connect and be part of the school community.

Lindsay Volk

Lindsay Volk

President

Lindsay grew up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and received a Bachelor’s Degree at Western Michigan University. She was a Catering Manager and Executive Assistant at Hyatt and Loews Hotels before becoming a Stay-at-Home Mom to her 3 girls. Currently, she has a 3rd and 5th grader at CT and a Sophomore at CHS! This is Lindsay’s 6th school year on the PTO Board, previously serving as the Secretary and Vice President. She is also a Girl Scout Leader for the 3rd and 5th grade troops and a substitute Lunch Supervisor at CT! Outside of school she’s busy with managing carpools and supporting her kids at soccer, gymnastics, golf and track and field! Looking forward to another fun and exciting year helping our school and seeing the smiles on all the kids' faces every day!

Shital Patel

Shital grew up in the Chicagoland area and got her bachelor’s at the University of Illinois Chicago. She currently works for Zebra Technologies as a Sr. Healthcare Account Manager. She has 2 daughters in 4th and 7th grade. She has a passion for athletics and enjoys watching her girls play basketball and flag football. She is looking forward to supporting the CT community and making the 2026/2027 school year one to remember.

Anna Estes

Anna is excited to begin her third year on the Country Trails PTO Board. She is the proud mom of three children—her oldest is starting his freshman year at Central High School, while her younger two are entering 4th and 5th grade at Country Trails. When she’s not volunteering at school events or cheering on her kids from the sidelines, Anna works as a real estate broker serving the Chicagoland area. She’s passionate about giving back to the Country Trails community and is looking forward to another great year with the PTO.

Sara Burnett

Treasurer

Sara grew up in the Elgin area and attended the University of Illinois. She worked as a high school business teacher before becoming a stay-at-home mom to her three daughters, who are in 7th, 5th, and 1st grades. She and her family enjoy watching movies, cheering one another on at athletic events, and doing arts and crafts together. In her free time, Sara loves being creative through ceramics, sewing, and gardening. With her background in education, Sara is especially passionate about creating opportunities for Country Trails students to learn, explore, and be creative through hands-on experiences. She also enjoys finding new ways for families to get involved, connect with one another, and feel like a part of the CT community through PTO events and activities. Sara is excited to serve another term on the PTO Board and looks forward to continuing to support our students, staff, and families!

Allie Stephens

Allie Stephens

Marketing

Allie Stephens is a graduate of Burlington Central High School and grew up within the district. She earned a bachelor's degree in Marketing and International Business from Western Illinois University and currently serves as Vice President of Captive Operations in the insurance industry. Giving back to the community is important to Allie. She serves with local organizations through board leadership, volunteer committees, and fundraising initiatives that support community events. She is also passionate about youth athletics and has coached flag football, t-ball, and soccer. In her free time, Allie enjoys spending time with her family, including her two young children, ages 1 and 6, watching sports, and gathering with cousins who are local in the community as well. Allie is excited for the 2026/2027 school year!

Rachel McNerney

Rachel McNerney

Rachel grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended Iowa State University (Go Cyclones!) where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing. After meeting her husband at college, they decided to move back to his home state. Rachel is the Marketing Partner at a local firm that provides marketing and website support for businesses. Outside of work, you can find her volunteering at Country Trails, out for a run, or on the sidelines of a baseball or soccer field supporting her sons, who are in 2nd and 5th grade. She looks forward to continuing to support the Country Trails teachers and families.

Missy grew up in Wauconda, Illinois, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communications from the Illinois Institute of Art. She and her husband have proudly called Highland Woods home since 2014 and are raising their two children, who attend Country Trails Elementary—a son entering 4th grade and a daughter entering 2nd grade. Missy is excited to serve as a PTO Committee Chair and is passionate about building a strong school community where students, staff, and families feel connected. She looks forward to supporting fun events, bringing people together, and helping make Country Trails an even more rewarding place for everyone.
